Been A Tough Year

Blessings,

I apologize for my slack in posting.  It has been a very tough year for me.  There has been a lot of death and sickness in my family.  I lost my mother late January and I lost my Brother in Law in March. He was only 45.   It has been really hard on my husband and his family.  Also Brother Randy Renigar is now in a nursing home.   I ask that you uplift my family and brother Randy in your prayers.

On a lighter note.  It is still time to sign up for the Gloryland Gospel Cruise to the Bahamas, Feb. 2 thru Feb. 7th 2009.  It will be a great time of music, fellowship and of course great food.  Please email me if you would like a registration form.

Global Southern Gospel in now 128k cd quality.  I hope you will enjoy the sound of the station.

Until next time

Betty

INSPIRATIONAL THOUGHTS

I Can Only Imagine? Now that is a beautiful song, but today I would like for us to do just that… use our imaginations. Some call it an escape from reality; I call it coming into reality. Let’s go back to the time and place when Jesus walked this earth. We are the local media covering this great event. Have things really changed from what they were?

Some things have changed… some remain the same. Today government still controls the media. Someone still decides what information is given to the public and we are still trained to believe information we are given. IF radio and television had been part of Jesus daily life how would He be portrayed? I’m sure at first everyone would have been interested in this new individual giving a wonderful message of hope and love. All too soon, they began to pick Him and His ministry apart. That hasn’t changed. But we are not put to death today for singing, "What A Friend We Have In Jesus", for letting the world know that we believe and promote Jesus Christ and all that HE stands for. But just a minute…. DO we promote Jesus Christ in our lives or are we hiding our faith in shame. There is a form of religion and then there is living a life where individuals know something is different and good. Our lives are on display everyday to someone, and we either promote Christ or crucify Him. We live in a country where we are FREE to enjoy the blessings of Christ and TESTIFY to them, however, too many times we hide our love for Him under a bushel. Step out for Christ today. Stand up, Stand up for Jesus … You servants of the cross. We send many messages without ever saying a word.

Be a reporter that sends a positive uplifting message to the world … Jesus loves you … He is here to carry us through all our problems. Don't give out false hope, Christ doesn't deliver us from our problems, He walks with us through them.  Be the kind of news analyst that promotes the positive in our world. It is there you know. We do not have to lie down and allow the devil and his cohorts to stomp on us, and send out messages that the world if falling apart and there is no hope, no way out. Instead, God has given the spirit within us to take a stand and be the one who can make a difference in lives today. Someone who thinks on good things, and overrides the negative messages being sent. One who steers an individuals thought life into light and away from the dark.  The difference starts with ONE making up their mind that something has to change.  We are the only papers that some people will ever read. Does our countenance and our actions void out what our mouths are saying? What is being read on the pages of our lives today? Gloom and despair or hope, love, joy and a sound mind? SMILE… make people wonder what you have that gets you through it all, then when they ask, share with them the hope and promise that waits for each individual out there willing to receive.

To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne. (Revelation 3:21)

Until next time.....

Time Of Trials and Heartaches

Blessings,

It has been a long time since I have posted.   There has been a lot of things happening since just before Christmas.  Brother Randy Renigar had a major stroke and is now in an Assistant Living Facility.

My sweet little mother,  had been very sick for a long time.  Her suffering days were over Thursday afternnoon Jan. 31st.  With her children  by here side she drew her last breath here on this earth.

Right now I should be rejoycing and celebrating knowing she has won the race and is now at peace with the Lord.  The Lord does not put on you more than you can bear.  It just seems when it rains it poors.   Troubles at work, mother dying and a friend having a major stroke.   But the Lord is good all the time and He can help us make it through all the storms and trials here on this earth.  Praise the Lord!

Be looking for new music added in the next few days.

Until Next Time

Betty

GSG Awards For 2007 And Prayer Request

Before I get into the GSG awards for 2007, I ask that you continue to pray for Randy Renigar.  My husband Sweetpea and I visited Brother Randy at the Hospital Yesterday and He has made a lot of progress, but still has a way to go.  I believe the Lord will heal Randy and he will be back to his old joking self again.

I am not just saying this because I am a female soloist myself, but there has been a lot of good music releases by female artist this year. To name some, Joyce Summers,  Amy Gann, Darlene Chapman, Tammy Kirkland and of course Janet Pascal just to name few.

I also need to mention some male soloist that has releases some great music this year such as Ron Brewer, Jimmy Dooley, Ivan Parker, Mark Lowery and Mark Bishop.

I have narrowed my awards down to the following:

Song of the year

A Little Song Coming On/Three Bridges/Crossroad Compilation

Quartet Of The Year

Dove Brothers

Trio Of The Year

Three Bridges

Duet Of The Year

Amazed

Male Soloist Of The year

Ivan Parker

Female Soloist Of The Year

Janet Pascal

Label Of The Year

Crossroads

Some Groups And Soloist To Look For Great Things From Them In 2008

Firm Foundation, The Lefeveres, Kirklands, New Ground, Joyce Summers, Darlene Chapman, Ron Brewer, Jimmy Dooley.  Of course many others that I do not have room to mention.

I will be releasing a new Cd by the end of the month.

Until Next Time

Betty

Urgent Prayer Request For Randy Renigar

Urgent prayer request for Brother Randy Renigar, Founder of Global Southern Gospel Radio.  Brother Randy has had a massive stoke.  1/3 of his brain on his left side has died, and a major artery in his neck is 98% blocked.  Due to other health complications, they cannot operate on him.  He is unable to communicate right now.  There is a 50% chance he will have another stroke.  Doctors have found evidance of a stroke that has happened in the past that Randy was not aware of.  Please keep him and his family in your prayers.
