I’m not sure how the weather is where you are, but around here it has been quite a mish mash. Unseasonably warm, perhaps very cold, then quite wintry, and sometimes all in the same day.

RANDY REVIEWS RECENT RADIO RELEASES

“Karen Paprelli-In It’s Own Time” Karen has a beautiful release here, and it is sang in a “folk” style. She has a way of holding one’s attention when she sings by captivating you with each note.

“Crossway-Wherever You Are” Though this isn’t my favorite Crossway tune, it’s still a good one. It has the message, music score, and singing to easily chart on any station anywhere.

“Hopes Call-Too Far Away” This song may not play well with some Denominations. However, it is a nice ballad and well done.

“Mike Bowling Group-There is Power In The Name Of Jesus” Mike Bowling Group is the name of the group this week. It’s another ballad and a little under-done. When I say under-done, I mean it’s kind of a formula song.

“Perrys-He Forgot” It’s got a down right catchy tune and a mighty fine message. The singing on this song is “top shelf” too! I’m also a sucker for good bass singing.

“Mark Trammell Trio-Once Upon A Cross” It’s a good ballad and I would buy it. But I can’t help but to wonder when is this trio going to hit their stride. They have yet to release anything that totally blew me away. They just release good songs, nothing great.

“Kenny Bishop-Lord, Have Mercy” Go, Kenny, Go. I absolutely, totally, completely, beyond a shadow of a doubt enjoyed this song. I enjoyed it from the beginning chord to the fade-out.

“Baker Pasma Families-Living For The Call” Move over “Top Shelf” family groups, it looks like you need to make room for the Baker Pasma Family. With this release they have shown they can consistently turn out quality anointed songs.

“Verlin Hensley-Great Falling Away” You must, without a doubt, stop what you are doing and give this song a listen. Verlin delivers a message in this song that needs to be heard.

“Bates Family-I’m Gonna Pray” I call this a determination song. It’s a message of determination. It’s like Apostle Paul declaring “I Am Determined”. I like the song and it’s very well done.

“Shiloh-Over And Over Amen” Hey this song features a bass lead. It also has a catchy beginning and it’s a song of praise. The genre borders on progressive, but that’s alright, because it is a good one.

“Right Spirit-Take Me Over” Who is this lead singer? She is strong! I especially like the piano in this release. This is a toe-tapper that has the potential to become a Revival favorite.

“Debbie Domer-Uh, Oh, I’ve Done It Again” Yes she has done it again! She has a released an excellent song with a catchy tune, good message, and fine singing. After hearing this song, you may find yourself saying Uh, Oh I’ve Done It Again in Church this Sunday.
